AFRICAN CHEETAH can build on the promise of his debut and repel the challenges of Izzi Mill and Maxwell Hawke amongst others. The selection was one place behind George Thisby at Doncaster so a big run from Rod Millman's runner in the first division would advertise his claims. Regardless of that, he ran a fine race when looking in need of the experience and this well-related 200,000 guineas purchase appeals as the one to be with. Izzi Mill may have been over the top when disappointing at Lingfield but she merits respect on the form that she achieved prior to that but she can be found easier opportunities than this. Maxwell Hawke finished last of five in a novice race at Newmarket that hasn't worked out as well as might have been expected but it's interesting that he was deemed capable of starting his career at that level. There are around five more runners in the field that are worth more than a cursory glance, particularly if the vibes are positive, but African Cheetah looks capable of going on to better things and should take the beating.
