Verdict
Salient, Flores Sea and GAP PRINCESS look likely to be in the shake-up here with Gap Princess taken to get reward for some good efforts in defeat. Flores Sea has not won on Turf for a couple of years, though his rating has gone up thanks to his all-weather success. He won at Southwell in March and was a close third back on grass recently. The shrewd David Barron has sent him on the trip to the Midlands from his northern base and he is very interesting. Salient won at Goodwood last May, but the ground was soft that day, and his form since tailed off towards the end of last season. However, freshened up by a five month rest, he ran well to be close fourth in a decent Windsor handicap and will be sharper tonight. A winner at Catterick in July, Gap Princess has been the epitome of consistency since, and last time out was well supported when a close third behind the highly progressive Jaconet. That form looks good in the context of this race, and Gap Princess can lead them home.
