The unraced Penolva is related to Montjeu, and along with Teeky, looks set to make a fight of it, but the vote goes to MULTIPLICATION. Karl Burke saddled a debutant to score at Windsor this season, and any market confidence for this well bred newcomer, Penolva, should be noted. She is a half-sister to six winners in France and the trip looks right. Hailing from the John Gosden camp, Teeky will be a popular choice, especially after a decent second at Bath on her seasonal re-appearance. That looked only a modest affair however, and Teeky's performances have suggested she may need a longer distance before losing her maiden tag. Having shown immense promise on her first two starts last year, Multiplication was well beaten in the Watership Down Sales race, although trainer Roger Charlton confessed afterwards that running her there was a mistake, as it was an unusually hot renewal. However, this is a remarkable drop in grade, and being a half sister to Blue Monday, Multiplication should improve with age and can land this maiden.
