Moonshine Beach has topweight but ran well enough last time to command respect, with Masterman Ready, Bollin Thomas and Heart Springs the other main contenders. Moonshine Beach will not want any more rain to fall as he cannot really handle soft ground, but if today's conditions remain the same, Peter Hiatt's charge should go close. He has no stamina doubts whatsoever, having gained all seven career victories over two miles or more, and went very close when second in the Pontefract Cup last time. He is tough and looks sure to be involved over this slightly shorter trip. Masterman Ready got back to winning ways here last time and will not mind the ease in conditions, but is not as battle-hardened as the selection. Bollin Thomas made all to hang on well at Ayr and should not be inconvenienced by this slightly longer journey, while Heart Springs is not badly treated and lines up in fair form. The rest are hard to make claims for, and of the four mentioned, preference is for Moonshine Beach.
