In depth

Verdict

Kalokairi is just the sort that his trainer excels with and he's taken to win the finale. Black Tor Figaro and Smetana are two potential dangers. The selection was well held in three fairly decent maidens at around a mile at two but this stoutly bred Galileo filly was never going to be seen at her best until this, or perhaps even next, year. She was weak in the market and could only stay on at the one pace over ten furlongs at Nottingham but should now be spot on and this further step up in trip can help to bring about the required improvement. Black Tor Figaro ensures that his jockey earns their riding fee but he's progressing steadily and will handle the conditions whilst Smetana has a similar profile to the selection but lacks a recent run; the market can guide to her chances. Precision Break made a winning debut for Paul Cole and rates a mention but needs to improve and we're more than happy to nail our colours to the mast of Kalokairi.
