MR FLANNEGAN is selected to land the opener on his first outing outside of maiden company with the main dangers appearing to be Captain Scooby and Golden Destiny. Mr Flannegan did not seem to handle Bath's undulations last time out, where he came there to win the race before hanging badly in the closing stages. There was plenty promise in his penultimate start where he was noted staying on well to finish fourth from an unpromising position and despite concerns about any juice that may exist in the ground, he is still put forward. Captain Scooby made a victorious handicap debut at Beverley, staying on strongly in the closing stages. He looked a horse that would appreciate a step up to six furlongs but the sharp nature of this track would be the concern. Golden Destiny landed a Windsor maiden on her penultimate start and finished second over course and distance on her last start. By Captain Rio, she appears to relish getting her toe in and the form of her last run looks solid as the front three drew quite a way clear, while the third had shown a decent level of form in maiden company. Tartan Turban attracted market support in a better nursery than this at Newbury last time out and won what looked a decent maiden at Windsor on his penultimate start. It might have been that the ease in the ground was his undoing at Newbury so with that in mind he could not be put forward with any confidence. Mr Flannegan is a tentative selection to land the opener.
