Verdict

SPINNING WATERS is narrowly preferred to Saborido, Canmoss and Melange. The selection was a winner a fortnight ago at Pontefract. That win came on the horse's step up in trip for his handicap debut and now finding his ideal conditions he looks sure to keep finding the necessary improvement to defy this 4lb higher mark. Canmoss was second on his reappearance run at Pontefract but he shaped with plenty of promise and he looks to be fairly handicapped, whilst the visor is tried on Witch Of The Wave who needs to improve on recent outings. Golden Games represents a trainer in good form, a comment that also applies to Saborido. Amanda Perrett's son of Dixie Union was another who improved on previous form on his recent handicap debut and he will appreciate this quick ground. Melange won well on the all-weather at Southwell last time, showing plenty of grit and he may still be well-treated for this return to the turf off a 6lb higher mark, whilst better of Excelsior Academy is anticipated this afternoon. A hard race to work out but we come down on the side of Spinning Waters.
