The Kiddykid can post a shock with Gallantry and H Harrison offered up as alternatives. David Evans' team are running well at present and while The Kiddykid would hardly come into the category of "unexposed performers" and while some would have been slightly disappointed with his run at Chester, it is worth noting that his better performances have obtained with fields of this size. Gallantry has gone up 5lbs for a recent success at Warwick. That race was staged at a steady early pace and it is to be hoped that Paul Howling (who has taken over the training duties from Derek Shaw) can realise that level of improvement. H Harrison was behind on the day but he cannot be discounted as a seven furlong specialist that acts on tonight's surface. Kafuu scored on debut for Jeremy Noseda as a juvenile. Now with Simon Callaghan, it will be interesting to see whether he can translate soft ground form onto this surface. Passion Fruit is proven on the surface. The mare has struggled in better grade and did not enjoy any better fortune in handicaps. Overrule has it to do to reverse form but cannot be discounted given the recent form of the Brian Ellison stable. Dazed and Amazed has dropped dramatically down the weights having paid the penalty for consistency during his younger days. A step up in trip is attempted in order to roll back the years. Carmanero has only won twice in 40 starts but the gelding is never too far away from adding to that tally. Woodcote Place is a previous course-and-distance winner. Shamayel has less experience than most and could literally be anything. A wide open affair and The Kiddykid is our pick.
