HOLME ROSE and Verde Goodwood both take the eye on paper with the former taken to blossom at the first time of asking whilst Hurricane Milly is surely better than she was able to show at Doncaster. It's difficult to side with Alan King's filly with any confidence given a bitterly disappointing run on Town Moor but she had looked a useful prospect when winning at Huntingdon on debut and connections will be hoping that she can set the record straight. Big Knickers, Atared and Calico Rose have all shown degrees of promise thus far but it may make more sense to concentrate on the newcomers and a couple of them jump off the page on breeding. Verde Goodwood is from the same family as Argento Luna, Winsley and Lyes Green who have all done so well for their owner/breeder over the years and it would be no surprise to see this Lomitas filly follow in the family footsteps but marginal preference is for the McCain runner. She is a half-sister to the top class Riverside Theatre and Holme Rose may be able to improve on the trainer's modest record in these races.
