Spare Cash has had plenty of chances but has yet to run a poor race and Alan King's gelding is taken to gain an overdue first success, getting the verdict ahead of Double Intruder and Piper Hayes. The last mentioned showed a reasonable level of form in bumpers but has yet to translate that form over timber so he may be best watched. Peter Bowen's French import Cadoulor gave little sign of encouragement on his British debut, while Sir Winston has been well held in both starts so far and in a moderate contest a bigger threat is likely to come from stable companion Double Intruder. Vic Dartnell's gelding has shown a consistent level of form and should be involved in the finish but he may have to settle for minor honours behind Spare Cash, who gets the vote.
