Heaven Sent will be a warm order to make a winning start to her new campaign and it's difficult to find one to oppose her with; Once Upon A Grace and Cosmodrome are two of the more interesting alternatives. Like so many of Pivotal's progeny, Heaven Sent just gets better and better with age and her connections can be rewarded for keeping her in training as a five year-old. She improved throughout last season and finished with a close up third in the Group 3 Joel Stakes at Newmarket. We're not entirely convinced that this track will bring out her best but she should handle the surface and still be good enough to win. Cosmodrome was stepped up to a mile and a half for her third and final start last year which would suggest that this trip is very much a minimum for her return; she may be best watched on this occasion. Once Upon A Grace has been off for a long time but was beaten under 2 lengths behind Arch Swing on just her second start for Frances Crowley last year and is well worth monitoring for signs of confidence. Either way, favourite backers should get off to a flying start with Heaven Sent.
