In depth

Verdict

Il Presidente made a satisfactory return to action in April behind El Bandit at Warwick after an absence of some two and a half years and would be the choice if participating here but he was scheduled to run at Huntingdon yesterday and it would be surprising to see him turned out twice in as many days. Buachaill Beag hasn't really shown too much in bumpers but may be improved by a set of hurdles and his yard has a good record at the track. Fair Ask hasn't been seen since landing a point-to-point over a year ago and ONLY A TIPPLE is therefore a hopeful choice for the Donald McCain and Will Kennedy combination which has made such a fine start to the new season. Admittedly, he was last of three on his Rules debut but his initial outing between the flags over a similar trip suggested he'll be suited by this distance with better ground likely to suit too.
