In depth

Verdict

Lorient Express remains well treated judged by his current chase rating but was held off today's mark at Warwick last week and he may have to settle for a minor role again so preference is for Sualda, with Bonnet's Pieces rated the best of the remainder. The selection makes his handicap debut off what seems a fair mark and on ground conditions that clearly suit. Emmasflora goes on any ground but is inconsistent so is hard to back with any confidence, while Marine Life has ability but has clearly had his problems. Borehill Joker has his favoured ground and has to be respected but may just be a shade high in the weights. Coppermalt similarly has claims but may also be in the grip of the handicapper, while Andy Gin would probably want softer ground. Bonnet's Pieces has claims on the pick of his form but that tends to be on a softer surface and a safer option looks to be Sualda, who remains unexposed over hurdles.
