Verdict

Malmo Boy is only 4lbs higher than when successful Plumpton last time and has to be respected but he would probably prefer a softer surface and a safer bet looks to be Hurlers Cross, who gets the vote ahead of Fisherman Jack. The last mentioned is like Malmo Boy one that may not want the ground to be as quick as is forecast so he is probably best ignored. Mooresini is less exposed than most of these and cannot be ignored, while Dr Mann is another that may prefer more testing conditions. Eastern Point should have little difficulty with the underfoot conditions and has to be considered but preference is for Hurlers Cross, who has slipped to a decent mark and has his favoured ground.
