DIGGER GETS LUCKY may be able to gain a maiden success although Mr Newton and Spider Boy could make their presence felt. Hippodrome also merits consideration following his staying on second in a Market Rasen seller which may have signalled a return to form. Spider Boy is an admirably consistent performer who has made the running over this course and distance the last twice. He ran out of gas last time when he may have set too strong a gallop but could easily bounce back. Mr Newton missed 2008 and has had just two runs for this yard since returning to action. He's entitled to come on for those although didn't appear entirely straightforward at Hereford and may not have been suited by the drop back to the minimum although this is a stiffer circuit. Digger Gets Lucky hinted at ability in novice hurdles but struggled on his initial ventures in handicap company. There was much more to like about his latest run behind a well handicapped individual though so we're prepared to give Digger Gets Lucky another chance.
