Verdict
DONALDSON is the less than confident selection with Presentandcorrect and Capo Di Capi potential dangers. Donaldson earns the vote, in part, to the record of his trainer in chases at this track and he certainly has the ability to run out a ready winner. However, this Group 1 winner on the level didn't always reproduce his best form over hurdles and it remains to be seen how he fares with the larger obstacles. Finishing a race would be a step in the right direction for Presentandcorrect but he did get to within 11 lengths of Kalahari King over fences in November; form which is good enough to mark him down as a leading player. Capo Di Capi showed a decent level of form over fences in Ireland in three runs in 2008 and would have to be feared if able to reproduce that sort of form. He held a multitude of entries at declaration time so connections have presumably been keen to find the right opening for him. Arctic Shadow and Bold Policy (who is having his first run since leaving Nicholls) may find this trip on the short side and Amarillo Slim looks up against it so we'll take a chance with Donaldson in an intriguing heat.
