HITS ONLY JUDE has been knocking on the door of late and it should eventually swing wide open for him in this finale, with Redwater River and Downhill Skier are worthy of note. The selection has finished second on both his last two outings at Southwell, the same venue where all three of his wins to date have come. He has shown form on turf in the past and the majority of it on a soft surface and this looks like one of his easiest opportunities for some time. Redwater River has dropped down the ratings in the past twelve months not showing a great deal in the process. However, he did show signs of coming back to form at Catterick last time out when finishing an eye catching third of twelve behind Neo¿s Mate so any moves in the market should be noted. Downhill Skier found success in an ordinary looking handicap at Wolverhampton back in April but failed to follow up thereafter. All of his form since arriving from Ireland has been on the all weather so it is difficult to know how he will perform now sent back on the turf, but his trainer is in good form at present so respect is due. Hits Only Jude has looked a little unlucky of late and is taken to get himself back in the winner's enclosure.
