A chance is taken with ELIJAH PEPPER, who edges the vote ahead of Glenridding, Sheila Toss and Spin Again. The last named was in good form on the all-weather at the start of the year but has been very lightly raced on turf this season. He posted an encouraging performance over course and distance last month and may be capable of making the frame; if he can build on the effort today. Sheila Toss is starting to get the hang of things and finally got off the mark when justifying favouritism at Folkestone 8 days ago. She carries 6lb extra this afternoon but has to merit consideration at this level. Glenridding also has a penalty for a victory on the all-weather earlier in the week, which hardly eases the burden of top weight. However, does love this c&d, so fits the bill on the 'horses for courses' theory. However, Elijah Pepper also goes well at this venue and, as he is still on a winning mark, he is worth a shot even though the trip stretches him to the limit.
