        Verdict

        This is a trappy maiden to open the card and from a shortlist of Daanaat, Marygate and Excellent show we will side with Daanaat. The selection is a well-bred filly and her yard have an excellent strike-rate with their 2-year-olds this season, so she looks the percentage call. Marygate does have the benefit of racecourse experience and she shaped with plenty of promise on her debut when she finished third behind Dispol Kylie. However, she then disappointed last time out and she will need to leave that running behind if she is to get her head in front. Excellent Show is another interesting newcomer from the Brian Smart yard who have only had a handful of 2-year-old runners this season, but they have still managed to notch a couple of wins. She is definitely one to note in the betting, but in a race where the market may well provide the clues, we will side with Daanaat as the one to beat.
