SHEMOLI is taken to break his duck here, being preferred to Taarab and Harvest Song. Runner up in his last outings at Leicester and Doncaster in similar conditions, Michael Jarvis' only runner on the card seems to have this sort of contest within his scope, given he continues on his upwards curve. One of only four to have run three times, he's racing off a fair mark of 77. He's been taken out of a Newmarket handicap to run here instead. Harvest Song is by Sadler's Wells, and was a 290,000 Guineas purchase. The Queen's runner was well down the field on debut in testing ground over a mile, but six months of schooling may have brought about improvement. He's Sir Michael Stoute's only runner on the card, and any market support should be noted. Taarab has a derby entry, but was disappointing when runner up in a weak contest at Newcastle recently, not seemingly building on a similar position on debut in the autumn. This is a further step up in trip for the Godolphin runner. Autumn Harvest won a bumper a couple of years ago, but hasn't followed up that success over jumps and comes here for his second outing on the flat; Lady Anne Nevill also switches codes after five hurdles outings in which she's shown little promise. Given there's not much form to go on, it's a tentative selection we offer, in Shemoli.
