Verdict

A big field of selling-platers is hardly an ideal betting medium but something has to win and it could be SILK MILL BLUE despite a 0-17 strike-rate on Turf. Richard Whittaker's dual Tapeta winner didn't run badly in a Class 5 handicap at Beverley last time when carrying 6lb more than his allotted weight and this is a drop in grade. Loose Chippings finished second three times in succession at Southwell, all over much further, and this looks too sharp while Blyton Lass gained her only victory over 1m2f at Chelmsford. Sulafaat's only success came at Newcastle and she's yet to reach a place in six starts on Turf. Smashing Lass could provide the main threat as she was staying on over slightly shorter at Beverley. Spiritual Boy was engaged in the 3.15 at Hamilton yesterday
