Rosecliff suggested when chasing home the improving Pagan Sword at Salisbury last time that his turn may not be far away and is taken to go one better today at the main expense of Last Pioneer and Patronage. The last mentioned showed promise when chasing home Virtue in a Windsor maiden last month but failed to build on that effort on a return visit to the same venue last time and may be best watched first time in a handicap. Duroob has slipped to a fair mark and has claims on the evidence of his reappearance effort at Doncaster but Kevin Ryan's gelding has not run up to that form in two subsequent starts and a bigger threat may come from Mick Channon's Mujazaf, who is less exposed than most of these but needs to improve. Nowaday drops back in distance having failed to stay further last time and is another worthy of a mention although of more interest may be Last Pioneer. Tom Tate's gelding as run up to his mark in similar contests in his last two starts and should again be thereabouts but preference is for Rosecliff, who is taken to fulfill Salisbury promise.
