A particularly poor event featuring many inexperienced riders so caution is advised but a small investment on Highland Gait may prove fruitful while Dara Mac and Irma La Duce look best of the remainder. Tim Easterby's charge is not the easiest to predict but has put up a couple of fair efforts off similar marks this year and a reproduction of his close third behind the well treated Tony Tie at Beverley last time would surely be enough to see him first past the post at this lowly level. Dara Mac ran well when placed at Beverley last time but that was a weak seller and he may well have been flattered in the soft ground on that occasion so is passed over. Irma La Duce is well treated on the pick of her form but has looked on the downgrade and is no easy ride for an apprentice so Highland Gait looks the answer to the finale under a useful rider.
