Just an ordinary fillies handicap and the vote goes to Bond May Day while others to consider include Cheeky Girl, Pavement Gates and Gaelic Roulette. Bryan Smart's three-year-old was a course and distance winner in April and showed she is on the upgrade when given a positive ride to score at Beverley last week. The Among Men filly has a 6lb penalty to shoulder but remains open to further improvement and could prove a step ahead of the handicapper at present. Cheeky Girl is just 4lb higher compared to her C&D success in late June but she had nothing to spare at the finish and recent efforts suggest she is high enough in the weights. Pavement Gates has held her form well of late and rates a big danger off her current mark while Gaelic Roulette stepped up on previous efforts when placed last time and has each way claims once again but Bond May Day looks a progressive type and may prove capable of defying top weight in the hands of Robert Winston.
