Verdict

A step up in trip will be on the cards for most of these before too long but Bessemer showed enough on his debut to suggest that he can start to pay his way here at the main expense of Sweet Cando of those with previous experience. Although a move for Jadan could be interesting on this his debut run. However, Bessemer, who is by Arc winner Carnegie, will have learnt greatly from his previous outing at Hamilton and this stiff six furlongs should be right up his street for now. He hails from the all-conquering Mark Johnston yard can be expected to know exactly what is required of him this time around.
