Alvino disappointed when pulled up before two out in the Fox Hunters' Chase at Aintree earlier this month but was good value for his win at Wincanton previously and the 11-year-old is taken to resume winning ways here, getting the verdict over Twenty Degrees and Whitenzo. The last mentioned is not as good as he once was but is still capable of useful form as he showed when successful at Exeter and Wincanton last term but his form this season has not matched that and he looks best watched. Red Brook Lad has done little wrong since returning from three starts in point-to-points and has to be considered, while Maxou Des Brosses could be of interest on his rules debut having shown promise in points. Howard Howard has shown only a modicum of ability and of more interest may be Twenty Degrees, who was not disgraced in the Cheltenham Foxhunter Chase when last seen and had shown decent form prior to that. Alvino has arguably the better form though and he is preferred.
