Leo's Lucky Star probably found the going too testing for him at Bangor last month and David Pipe's gelding may be better suited by today's underfoot conditions so looks worth chancing in a moderate looking contest and he gets the vote ahead of Shanahan and Thievery. The last mentioned, a winner at Hereford in November, receives weight all round but Henry Daly's gelding may be a shade high in the weights still and looks best watched. Kim Bailey's Good Old Days has been given a break since his latest start and may be better for it but faces no easy task giving weight away all round, while Southwell winner Jazz Dance disappointed at Sandown last time and is hard to recommend on that evidence. Kova Hall ran better last time and is worthy of consideration but a bigger threat is likely to come from the more consistent Shanahan, who should again be thereabouts. This should not take much winning and Leo's Lucky Star looks to have been found the ideal opportunity to open his account over fences.
