In depth

Verdict

Dzesmin can make a winning start over timber, with Never So Blue, Double Deputy and Cottingham just a few others in with a shout. There are quite a few familiar names from the Flat on view here, and it is the ex-Polish Dzesmin that is nominated. Formerly Group level in his native land, Richard Guest's charge brings a touch of class to proceedings, and as he has already been in winning form on the Flat this summer, should lack for nothing in fitness. Sure to have been well schooled, he can beat Cottingham who returns from a successful spell on the Flat for David Barron. Never So Blue failed to handle the testing ground at Bangor in May and can give a better showing here, while ex-Godolphin inmate Double Deputy ran well until the run-in at Hexham on his debut over timber. Secretary General was a fair fourth at Worcester and has to be given a mention at least, but Dzesmin is the one if translating his useful Flat form to timber.
