In depth

Verdict

Dickensbury Lad has less weight than most so is the pick over Sento, Kosmos Bleu and Dun An Doras. Dickensbury Lad is the youngster in the line-up at the age of six, and could well be one to follow this season until the handicapper gets to him. He made virtually all the running to score over further on this course in April and has not been out since. He starts the new campaign fresh and ready, and can hopefully make the most of his light weight. Sento failed to cope with 11st 12lb at Uttoxeter last time but obliged at Newton Abbott earlier, and so has the ability. Maybe things have just not gone his way, and Alan King's challenger is one to keep on the right side. Green Finger travels well but has not found a lot in the finish lately. However, he will definitely win a decent handicap this term, and along with Kosmos Bleu, pulled up on his reappearance at Fontwell in September, can make his presence felt. Dun An Doras has a squeak if consenting to give of his best, but we feel that it is worth taking a chance that Dickensbury Lad will be spot on first time.
