Blakeset gets the vote in this Claiming Stakes with Bella Beguine and Dil the others for the shortlist. The selection is a course and distance winner who is in great heart at present, and although he was well beaten in a competitive handicap over 7 furlongs here last time, he will find this a much easier proposition and he will be hard to beat. Bella Beguine could give him the most to do as this 5-year-old from the Alan Bailey yard ran well when second to Ashtree Belle back in November. He will appreciate the drop in trip as both of his previous wins have come over this course and distance and he looks sure to go well. Dil has not been seen out since Boxing Day when he was a fair third behind Noble Locks at Wolverhampton, but he has never won for today¿s pilot Joanna Badger and he may again find a couple too good. Above Board and High Esteem have both got form on this track so have to be respected, but Blakeset rarely runs a bad race and gets our nomination.
