This is a moderate contest to get proceedings underway at Southwell with only one of the 14 runners, TENANCY, having been successful in their last six starts and he may be good enough to maintain that record, getting the vote over Vanatina and Stoneacre Chris. The last mentioned remains a maiden after 10 starts but Peter Grayson's filly has been running well without winning and should be thereabouts again in a poor contest. Out of India ran better here last time and has slipped to a fair mark but she is far from consistent, while Charlotte Grey has done most of her racing on the Polytrack but has run reasonable well on three previous runs on the Fibresand so he has to be considered. Northern Chorus has slipped to a decent mark but he has only won once from 27 starts, while Rossini Byline is less exposed than most of these after just six starts but she probably needs to improve. Mark Brisbourne's Vanatina has run creditably in her last two starts here and she has to be considered but preference is for Tenancy. Richard Guest's gelding put some disappointing efforts behind him when successful at Musselburgh two starts ago and, with the yard's runners continuing in good form, he looks the most likely winner.
