Some what of a course specialist ELUSIVE WARRIOR gets the nod with Barkass the closest challenger and Captain Royale also given a chance. The selection was a winner here over seven furlongs in better contest than this in October; in fact all of his sixl-weather victories have come on this track. A mile isn't his best trip with the gelding yet to score over the distance but he should have enough to beat these rivals. Barkess has not had the pleasures of competing on this surface but is a animal suited to it as he loves cut in the ground. Certainly a challenger on turf form. Captain Royale steps down in class after a few disappointing runs of late. From his form on the grass it suggests he should act on this surface but the only attempt here he finished last of ten. A return to some kind of form could have him placed. Ten to the dozen could be a value each-way bet if the price suits after his third place here last time in a poor contest but the vote goes to Elusive Warrior.
