Verdict

Trainer Richard Guest holds all the aces here, with two of the seven runners, Ceresfield and top weight Nephite and we will side with the former to pip his older stablemate in what should be a fruitful race for the Brancepeth yard. The selection remains on the same mark as when a close second to another stablemate, Night Fighter, at Market Rasen last time. Over the same trip here and with similar underhoof conditions, the seven-year-old mare can again go well and land this prize. Nephite has to concede 4lb to his stablemate and might find it tough off this mark. A closer second to Idaho D'Ox here over course and distance when last seen out over fences, a reproduction of that should clearly give him a chance, but the weight concession is likely to prove beyond him. Of the remainder, Tender Touch looks the pick judged by her win here last month, though you have to forgive her an unseated effort when going well at Perth last time. Nevertheless, she can chase the other two home, with the vote going to Ceresfield.
