An interesting finale to the days action from Southwell with Nicky Henderson sending Veleta on a recovery mission having let punters down on his debut at Market Rasen, he, along with Bearaway and Iftikhar combine to make this this the most competitive event of the day, with the latter getting the vote. Mark Brisborne's gelding must be something of a disappointment for his breeders, as he is out of a Group 3 winner, so to see him running in National Hunt Bumpers, must be something of an embarrassment for Sheihk Hamdan's Shadwell team. However, he has shown ability at this level and he is taken to get off the mark. Heather Dalton has her team in good form at present and Bearaway shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Worcester, before lack of condition found him out. He will be much the wiser now and should give a good account. The Queen's Veletia, who is out of a dual-winning hurdler, is another who should have learnt from her debut and as her mother was effective on this ground, there is every reason to belive it will suit her as well.
