Plenty of dead wood in a particularly weak affair and the vote goes to King Nicholas while Time To Regret and Nickel Sungirl look the only serious threat on recent form. The selection showed some respectable form in the context of this race when placed in handicaps both on turf and the all-weather last season and opened his account over seven furlongs at Lingfield in January. The four-year-old has not been seen out since and carries a 5lb penalty but a reproduction of the Lingfield form may prove sufficient against mainly disappointing rivals. Time To Regret appeared to show a little improvement when runner-up in a Catterick claimer last time but had been well beaten off marks in the 50s previously and it would be unwise to read too much in to the level of the form. Nickel Sungirl has a similar profile in that she reached a place in a claimer over course and distance last time but her overall level of form leaves her with something to find on these terms.
