Verdict

The feature event on the card has cut up badly and looks at the mercy of Dazzling Bay while Drury Lane looks the forecast pick ahead of Circuit Dancer. Tim Easterby's charge showed plenty of promise when a close second behind subsequent Epsom winner Tarjman at Newmarket's Craven meeting and confirmed that he is on the upgrade by lifting two valuable sprints on his next two starts. The son of Mind Games produced a fine turn of foot to lift the Coral Sprint Trophy on a return visit to Headquarters last month and then defied a 7lb penalty to follow up in the William Hill Trophy at York last weekend. Dazzling Bay pulled four lengths clear on the latter occasion and looks set for a sharp rise in the handicap so should prove capable of defying a 7lb penalty against weaker opposition. Drury Lane showed the benefit of first-time blinkers when obliging at Nottingham last time but has been raised 6lb since and his overall form leaves him with something to find with the selection. Circuit Dancer had some respectable juvenile form culminating in a Musselburgh maiden success but has struggled this term and still looks high enough at the weights.
