      Verdict

      Having won four times in just eight starts and posting a further three runner's up results VELOSO rates as a rock solid selection in this handicap leaving the likes of Hi Dancer and Bushy Dell fighting for minor prizes. Further to his impressive strike-rate the selection returned from over 400 days out to record a facile success over course and distance last time. The six pounds penalty is unlikely to stop him following up as he should just carry on progressing. Hi Dancer is three pounds heavier than when last winning on the level but since then he's been running well over timber including victory on his last start and if continuing now back in this code he should be a live contender. Bushy Dell is now three pounds lighter in the handicap than when last in front, however, he has plenty to prove after being held 21 length when last of five on his last start when just a pound worse off. Chocolate Caramel has a chance if building on his last run when in second and My Friend Fritz looks competitive so could trouble the judge but on current form Veloso rates as nap material.
