In depth

Verdict

This is another wide open event in which Brioso and Henry Tun are worthy of plenty of respect, but the vote goes to the game and consistent Soaked. The selection has been running consistently well all season and this looks slightly less competitive than some of his recent assignments. He is a course and distance winner, is well drawn and will take a good deal of beating with Tony Culhane booked for the ride. Henry Tun is another course and distance winner who could also go well but he was well beaten on this track last time. Patientes Virtis finished in front of Henry Tun on that day and she is a game sort who should again run her race. Brioso looks to be the best of the rest and this colt finished down the field behind Gilded Cove last time and the suspicion is that he may be better at six furlongs. There are doubts about a number of these runners so we will take a chance on the consistent Soaked.
