In depth

Verdict

Patrick Haslam is a past master at finding an opening for an unexposed horse so, even though Red Flyer has been seen out of timber in recent times, he looks to have crept in here unnoticed and is worth chancing in this modest affair. Neutral Night, Countrywide Girl and Keltic Flute have all been hard to win with in recent times and are for the brave only. While Mimas Girl posted a better effort last time and is fancied to give the selection the most to do if building on that effort here. However, as that cannot be guaranteed, she is taken on with Red Flyer, who has plenty of experience of the course to his name from earlier in his career. The son of Catrail has been given a real chance by the handicapper after his fruitless spell over hurdles and he looks the value call in a race that should easily be within his capabilities.
