Verdict

There is no form for the backers to go on here with none of the eight runners having raced previously and what can only be a tentative vote goes to Simplify, who is marginally preferred to Peninsular, Marching Song and Tournedos. The last mentioned is a son of Rossini trained by Mick Channon whose juveniles have started the season well without winning races. Planet Tomato hails from the stable of Paul Cole that knows how to ready a two-year-old and has the assistance of Kieren Fallon. However, the stable has been rather quiet so far and of more interest may be Richard Hannon's Marching Song, who is a well-related son of Royal Applause owned by The Queen. John Gosden's two-year-olds are more forward this term than usual so Peninsular has to be respected under Frankie Dettori but, in the same ownership, we just prefer Simplify. David Loder's record with first time out juveniles is second to none and this February son of Fasliyev is a likely type on breeding and gets the nod.
