        Verdict

        Bill Turner has made his usual flying start to the season and his representative, the speedily-bred Lady Filly, is taken to follow up her maiden success from Kempton at the main expense of Lisa Mona Lisa, the only other previous winner in the field, who was bought in by her connections for 6,000gns after her debut win at Doncaster. Gypsy Fair and Mimi Mouse catch the eye out of the newcomers and are ones to monitor in the betting - while Lady Erica has improvement to find and is best watched on her turf debut. Lucy Parkes is another debutante that could be of interest if she is supported but, as she lacks experience at this stage, she may just need this to bring her on. Therefore, with a confidence-boosting performance already secured behind her challenge, Lady Filly is the obvious choice in what looks to be just an ordinary Novices' Stakes that kick-starts the card at Thirsk.
