In depth

Verdict

This is not a strong race and a chance is taken on IBROX who is narrowly preferred to Almamia and Monaadi. The selection found the one too good here last week when he was beaten by the well-backed Onemoreandstay, but the pair did come a little way clear of the rest in that race and a reproduction of that form might just be good enough today. Almamia looks the obvious threat if she is fit enough to do herself justice. She has been off the track for 14 months but she clearly has ability and the yard are shrewd when they step horses up in trip so the market will be very informative. Monaadi hails from a yard in good form and he was a good second behind Eureka Moment last time. He was returning from a break that day so he should strip fitter here and Graham Gibbons who rode Ibrox last time is on Monaadi today. Augustus John has been knocking on the door but he has had plenty of chances and we will stick with Ibrox to go one better than last time.
