Far Note gets the vote here ahead of Frascati, Ellens Lad and Count Cougar. Frascati is a four-time course and distance scorer so warrants respect, even though he is rated six-pounds higher than for the most-recent of those victories. Ellens Lad is well-weighted on the best of his Turf form and scored a first all-weather win from a three-pound lower mark when winning over six at Wolverhampton last time. Soba Jones was touched off when trying to defy a penalty here on Tuesday so might not line up. Both of St Ivian's successes have come over six furlongs and he was beaten off his revised mark seven days ago. Time N Time Again has been beaten from around today's mark in his four all-weather runs to date, all at Wolverhampton so, while entitled to be competitive on the best of his Turf form, looks opposable on balance, although first-time cheekpieces are tried on him today. Far Note is only two pounds higher than for his course win over a furlong further than today in November and, seeing that the drop in trip will present no problems, can go well despite running poorly over seven furlongs last time. Izzet Muzzy has chances on his old form but has not raced for 411 days. Count Cougar and Sahara Silk are course and distance winners, but the former has a seven-pound rise to defy if he is going to score and the latter hasn't really sparkled since that success referred to, which came in a maiden. Abraxas has yet to win a race, while Sheapys Lass is too far out of the weights to be considered. This leads us back to Far Note, who is entitled to be competitive in this race and,a s such, gets the call.
