      Verdict

It might be worth siding with Sendintank here with Glory Quest, Shifty and Nakwa possibly proving best of the rest. The selection was gambled on when romping home by 11 lengths at Wolverhampton three days ago. It was hard not to be taken by that performance and, racing under a six-pound penalty - five of which will be offset by the very useful Brian Reilly - it looks worth taking the chance that he will transfer his ability to Southwell's surface, which many horses, it must be said, are unable to do. Glory Quest won from today's mark over course and distance in March of last year but was beaten when backed in an apprentice handicap here on Tuesday. Each of Lazzaz's four wins have come at Wolverhampton. Madiba won a maiden here over 11 furlongs on January 4, but it was not a strong event. Finger Of Fate won over seven furlongs at Brighton as a two-year-old, but has never raced beyond eight furlongs, although he has a chance of staying further than that based on his breeding. He has proven that he acts on Wolverhampton's all-weather surface. Shifty has every right to be competitive for a place here from his current mark, while Nakwa is another to race under a penalty following a 12-furlong Wolverhampton win and he too can go well. Stravmour is a course and distance winner but, at seven years of age, is hardly going to pull any rabbits out of the hat now, and a place is maybe the best that he can hope for. This brings us back to the selection, which is Sendintank.
