Verdict

MALT OR MASH's mark doesn't reflect his current level of ability but he can still prove too strong for Lost Soldier Three and Charging Indian. Richard Hannon has had just four runners at the track in recent seasons but one of them has scored and he may be able to double his tally with this formerly smart handicapper. Malt Or Mash has struggled to recapture his best form after a spell on the sidelines but this test may well suit him if he copes with the surface. Lost Soldier Three possessed a similar rating to the selection not very long ago and there may not be as much between the pair as official figures suggest. He's been performing well since being dropped to this sort of level and has live claims if proving his effectiveness on this track. There are no concerns on that score with Charging Indian who won a handicap here last time and he appeals as the likeliest beneficiary if the aforementioned pair fluff their lines. Boundless Prospect is a regular here and cannot be ignored whilst Inconspicuous Miss ran well on her sole visit and may benefit from the headgear but we'll side with Malt Or Mash.
