        Verdict

        A chance is taken with the unexposed Baranook, who is selected in preference to Newtonian and Odabella, who are expected to pose the selection the most problems. The latter responded well for Lisa Jones when she teamed up with him at Wolverhampton seventeen days ago and the partnership should again run their race here. However, Jones' mount has already been very hard to win with and he will need luck on his side to get off the mark at the twelfth time of asking. Newtonian is unexposed and has finished in frame in all bar one of his five previous visits to this course. However, the form of Baranook's latest start looks far more solid at this stage and he is expected to be very hard to peg back with a similar effort today.
