A wretched bunch and MISTER BENJI is our pick with Only A Grand and Amber Moon the others to make a modicum of appeal. Mister Benji was a little disappointing last time out, especially for those who had forced his price into such cramped odds, but it's easy to understand why those punters did so after a third to Norcroft at the turn of the year. Trip and going suit. Only A Grand is a regular in low grade events of this nature. That said, he has raced lamentably on two recent starts and it's a reflection on the quality of the race that he makes our moderate short list. Amber Moon probably ran as he was entitled to do so at Wolverhampton. Jamie Osborne's inmate shaped well in a previous visit to Southwell so the market is watched closely. Sharps Gold was well beaten on a previous visit to Southwell so could be worth opposing at the likely odds. Doncaster based, John Balding has sent out a number of placed horses of late so supporters of Actuality have some hope. A winner at Wolverhampton for Marcus Tregoning, he is now back in Britain after an unsuccessful time in Ireland. Zabeel House has been completely out of form though he is 10lbs lower in the handicap than he was at this time last year. Course-and-distance winner, Komreyev Star is in a similar predicament. A bad race and Mister Benji is only the most token of recommendations.
