DESPERATE DAN gets the vote in this contest with Whiskey Creek and Incomparable rated as serious dangers. The middle of the track appears to be best over the five furlong course and Andy Haynes' charge can have few complaints on this score. Although somewhat quirky, he has a very useful 7lb claimer aboard and if consenting to put it all in, the horse represents value at the likely odds. Whiskey Creek's recent form figures say it all. He acts here and certainly was not stopping at Lingfield last time out. Incomparable has also won at this venue in the past but it is surprising that connections have left off the cheekpieces this afternoon. Derek Shaw has a trio in this race. Steel City Boy seemed to find the winning habit once leaving Ann Stokell's care while Grand Palace, who won at Wolverhampton, wins in his turn. Calmdownmate paid the penalty for a tardy start on his latest visit but the fact he was backed on that occasion, suggests that he must be watched in the market again. Garlogs has been out of form but it would be no surprise to see the confirmed front runner trouble the places. Desperate Dan is our idea of the most likely winner.
