The consistent AZURE MIST would have to get the vote in this maiden over competitive opponents Girl of Pangea and Another Try. Mark Tompkins' filly has yet to score in her 13 race career but has been well placed in a number of handicaps including her last outing when she was just unable to fend off eventual winner, Godolphin's Pink Ivory. This contest represents a step down in class from the three-year-old's latest attempts to break the maiden and in her current form it should be enough to see her and connections onto the winners enclosure. Ed Dunlop's Girl of Pangea is a lighlty-raced sort and is the main danger. She raced impressively with the promise of improvement on her seasonal reappearance at Lingfield in October but then showed very little as favourite after a short break on her last visit to a racecourse. The longer break of over a month will suit her better this time so expect her to at least trouble the judge. Another Try was fifth behind Azure Mist last time out and his pedigree suggests that he has winning performances in him so improvement can be expected, the slightly weaker opposition will also be in his favour. Vogarth steps up in trip to try and score for the first time after his narrow second on this track last month, but that bare result is tempered by the fact the leader was stopping and previous results don't inspire too much confidence. Selerosa makes her all-weather debut after failing to impress on turf. The return to a mile will suit and her last outing promised more but Azure Mist should be too strong.
