Verdict

SLEEPY VALLEY may be the one to side with in the opening contest at the expense of Goodison Glory and Lily Jacaro. Alan Dickman's filly caught the eye staying on stoutly after a slow start over five furlongs on debut at Thirsk on fast ground. The race hasn't produced any winners but the form doesn't look too bad in spite of that. There is a slight concern about whether she'll get this trip and she's been off for some time but she should handle the ground. Lily Jacaro has an obvious chance having only gone down by half a length at Redcar over six furlongs. She'll relish the longer trip and should go close if handling the ground. Goodison Glory has a little more to prove but there was still a good bit of encouragement to be taken from his debut at Kempton whilst his in-form yard has a good strike rate with their juveniles at the track this season. He'd be the one if the money arrives but we'll take Sleepy Value for the time being.
